BIMBIA WILL HAVE A SHOPPING MALL IN 2021
650.000.000 Francs CFA has been adopted by Limbe III Council as Budget For 2021 Financial Year.
Sitting in its Second Ordinary Session on Wednesday 23rd December 2020, Councillors of Limbe III unanimously approved Mayor Nseke Dibotti Luma’s Plan of Action, which essentially focuses on income generating projects.
In his address, the Mayor cited the non-completion of works on the Man O’ War Bay to Dikolo road as one of the major hindrances to investment in Limbe III, and urged the contractor to restart work immediately.
He regretted the delay on land surrender by CDC, and emphasized on the fact that the housing project to construct 24 apartments will not only meet housing needs but will also enable the council generate revenue to speedily attain autonomy.
Some major projects earmarked for 2021 include, amongst others;
1. The construction of a Shopping Mall
2. The construction of a Municipal Cold Stores
3. The completion of the Municipal Restaurant
4. The supply of Water and Electricity to villages
5. The rehabilitation of Bonabile road with pavement/concrete, etc
Taking the floor during the session, the SDO’s representative, the D.O for Limbe III Subdivision, Madam Verkline Epollewane congratulated the Mayor and Councillors for voting a realistic budget, which takes into consideration the present context. She exhorted Councillors to be veritable agents of development and encouraged the Mayor to continue putting in place new strategies to generate revenue and to effectively follow-up council action to ensure the realisation of the budget.
In his closing remarks, Mayor Nseke appreciated the Staff for the sacrifices made during the difficult 2020 year. He called for teamwork and collaboration, emphasizing the fact that it is irrational to “speak from the window when the door is wide open to enter”. It is only together that Limbe III municipality will emerge, Mayor Nseke concluded.
